Product Analytics Consulting
We define the few numbers that drive your growth, track them correctly in PostHog, Statsig or Mixpanel, and show you which levers move them.
Know which numbers move your business
You have a product people use and a growth target to hit. But the dashboards disagree, nobody is sure an event still fires, and every planning meeting turns into an argument about whose number is right. We give your team one trusted set of metrics, built on the pirate metrics (AARRR): acquisition, activation, retention, referral, and revenue. Then we trace each one back to the everyday actions that drive it, so you know where to push.
This service is for companies in the growth stage: past early product fit, with real users, and now needing to grow on purpose.
How it works
1. Free analytics review
We look at what you track today, how it’s named, and whether the numbers add up. You get a short written list of what’s broken, what’s missing, and what to fix first.
2. Metric definitions
Together we pick the key metric for each stage of the funnel and write down exactly how it’s counted. Under each one, we list the input metrics: the smaller, earlier numbers your team can actually change, like the share of new users who finish setup in their first week.
3. Tracking plan and setup
We write the tracking plan (every event, its properties, and who owns it), then implement it in PostHog, Statsig or Mixpanel, connect it to your billing and database where needed, and check every event against real data before anyone relies on it.
4. Dashboards and experiments
One dashboard per funnel stage, built so anyone on the team can answer their own questions. With feature flags and A/B tests in place, each product change can be measured against the metric it was meant to move.
5. Monthly growth reviews (optional)
Each month we look at what moved, why, and what to try next, and we keep the tracking accurate as you ship new features.
What you get
- A metrics guide: each funnel metric and its input metrics, defined in plain words, with one owner each.
- A tracking plan your engineers can follow when they build new features.
- Working tracking in PostHog, Statsig or Mixpanel, tested against real data.
- Dashboards for acquisition, activation, retention, referral, and revenue.
- An experiment setup with feature flags and a simple way to read results.
- A handover session so your team can run it without us.
Problems we fix all the time
- Two dashboards, two answers. Signups, active users, or revenue are counted differently by product, marketing, and finance.
- Events that quietly broke. A release renamed or dropped an event, and nobody noticed for weeks.
- Test accounts in the numbers. Internal and demo logins inflate activity and hide real trends.
- Lots of data, no decisions. Hundreds of events are tracked, but no one can say which number to improve this quarter.
- A/B tests nobody trusts. Tests end early, measure the wrong thing, or can’t be read at all.
Why work with us
- Data engineering at scale. Henry built data pipelines as a data engineer and forward deployed engineer at Citadel, where wrong numbers have real costs.
- We’ve been on your side of the table. As a startup CTO, Henry shipped a product and had to decide what to build next from its numbers.
- Code and analysis in one person. We write the tracking code ourselves, so the plan and the implementation never drift apart.
- You own everything. The tracking plan, dashboards, and data stay in your accounts. Nothing is locked to us.
